Big takeaway: western alienation is real, but even if the Mark Carney Liberals are elected on April 28th, that doesn’t automatically mean the calls for separatism from the West will come crashing down on Canada. It all depends on what Mr. Carney and his government does. If they come with a peace offering to the west, in the form of pipeline approvals, getting rid of contentious Trudeau-era legislation (C-69, C-48, oil and gas production cap), actually dealing with the Chinese tariffs on canola, I believe it would go a very long way to smoothing the waters.
